About Us

The Metabolomics Research Infrastructure was born in 2014 from a collaborative initiative between the Institute of Bioimaging and Biological Complex Systems (IBSBC) of the CNR (National Research Council) and the University of Milano-Bicocca. Since its inception, the RI has been increasing its potential with the most innovative technologies, becoming an integrated platform complete with high-resolution and high-sensitivity instrumentation to study metabolomics. Since 2022, thanks to the ElixirNextGen.IT project, the IBSBC Metabolomics RI has achieved one of the main objectives: updating and implementing more innovative technological systems, certified with low environmental impact and compatible with the platform itself.
ELIXIR is a European life sciences infrastructure- ELIXIR brings together scientists from different countries and research institutes in the ESFRI roadmap, enabling researchers to access and analyze life science data to improve the value and impact of life science research on public health, the environment, and the economy.
